Medicare pays for home health in full when a doctor certifies that the person is homebound and needs intermittent skilled nursing or therapy, and the agency is Medicare-certified, as this one is. It covers nursing, therapy, medical social work and a home health aide while skilled care continues; it does not cover 24-hour care, meals or homemaker help on their own. You may choose any certified agency that serves your area; a hospital may suggest one but cannot require it.
